Why Should I Hire ServiceMaster by Bailey to Disinfect Against COVID-19?
ServiceMaster by Bailey has decades of experience in biohazard and trauma cleanup, including previous outbreaks of SARS and MERS. Our preventative/decontamination system and products were developed by renowned environmental scientists and industrial hygienists to engineer a service that avoids unnecessary costs but can work against several different pathogens, including SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19).
While cleaning and disinfecting your facility or home, our team follows CDC and business established guidelines. We require our staff to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times while at a customer’s facility. We utilize the CDC recommended hands-on application process. This process prioritizes high-touch points such as door handles, elevator buttons, tables, etc. However, our technicians go over each and every part of your facility by hand to ensure the most thorough quality of service possible to clean and disinfect. Each employee is trained on the proper use of personal protective equipment to not only protect their safety, but also limit the chance of cross-contamination.
Our technicians are trained in biohazard cleanup and certified by the IICRC. In addition, each employee is trained on the proper use of personal protective equipment to not only protect their safety, but also limit the chance of cross-contamination.

Decontamination and Disinfecting Services
How Does COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Affect Surfaces?
Droplets containing the virus land on surfaces and last for hours. Contaminants on high volume/touch areas can spread to your hands or transfer onto other items. If you were to touch a surface and then touch your eyes, mouth or nose before properly disinfecting your hands, you may become infected.
Why is it Important to Clean Before Disinfecting?
Cleaning removes dirt, grime, and dust from surfaces. Surfaces that are not cleaned remain covered in debris. Those areas stay covered and cannot be disinfected beneath the grime. Over time, as dust and dirt move, those covered areas become exposed and risk further contamination in areas that were once disinfected. Our protocols start with cleaning to remove surface dust, dirt and grime, then we disinfect surfaces killing the germs and pathogens.
How Often Should I Have My Facility Professionally Disinfected?
High traffic or high volume areas, like hospitals and big box retailers, require strict cleaning and disinfection schedules (weekly). However, general areas, such as an office with 10-20 people, that have less traffic do not require the same rigorous cleaning schedule. Bi-weekly or monthly cleaning/disinfecting regimens can be just as effective.
If there is a high risk person in your home or at your facility, it is recommended to clean/disinfect more often. In between professional services, we recommend day-to-day basic cleaning throughout the day with thorough disinfecting maintenance before and after business opens and closes. ServiceMaster by Bailey is happy to speak with you directly and figure out a personal treatment service based on your facility’s needs.

Is Cleaning and Disinfecting Enough to Combat COVID-19 Contamination?
ServiceMaster by Bailey goes beyond disinfection with our third step in the process: Protect. While continued cleaning and disinfection of surface areas is still important for COVID-19, there are several other organisms that pose a threat to one’s health. Our protection product is designed to create a barrier that protects both hard surfaces and upholstery for 90-days. This antimicrobial protection seals the area so customers can disinfect the surface for 90 days without removing the layer of protection.
Protection Against Organisms Associated With:
- Staphylococcus Aureus: MRSA, staph infections
- Escherichia Coli: E Coli
- Salmonella Typhosa: Typhoid fever
- Listeria Monocytogenes: Meningitis, UTIs, Sepsis
- Candida Albicans: Athlete’s foot and yeast infections
- Haemophilus Influenzae: Pneumonia, meningitis, septic arthritis
What’s the Difference Between Using a Disinfecting Fogger vs a Pump Sprayer?
How you apply the disinfectant is just as important as the type of disinfectant used. We use disinfectant foggers for both preventative cleaning and decontamination services. We believe this is more efficient than standard pump sprayers for several reasons (top 3 reasons below).
- Foggers work 10x faster than pump sprayers. Our technicians are able to cover 15,000 square feet with a fogger.
- Foggers provide better coverage and a more even distribution of product than pump sprayers.
- Since the particles are smaller, the impact is less on sensitive materials like paper or fabrics than if you were to use a pump sprayer, essentially soaking the area vs misting.
It is safe to assume pump sprayers are less effective, while foggers provide a more thorough cleaning with less impact and in less time.
How much does COVID-19 disinfection services cost?
Our COVID-19 cleaning services vary depending on several factors. We will come out to your facility and do an assessment of these factors and help you build a regimen that works best for specific needs.
- Exposure Level (Confirmed vs Preventative)
Protocols for confirmed or suspected COVID case facilities are much different than say a preventative cleaning/disinfection service. It is recommended that for any confirmed or suspected cases, you should have an Industrial Hygienist on site and increased PPE.
2. Cleaning Method
There is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all cleaning method. We strive for the most effective method for your facilities’ particular needs. Whether we use hand wiping or electrostatic spray (aka fogger), it will be custom to your facility.
3. Products
What product and how it’s used is all very important to the effectiveness of a COVID disinfection service. Product registration, mixing, dwell time and application method, are all critical factors. We don’t cut costs by over-diluting our products.
